Most of Chennai’s great sporting events are held here. Not all matches tickets needs to be bought, most free passes can be obtained through government officials.
Usually these passes go to waste as no one bothers attending some dumb sports event unless there’s some hotshot who’s playing.
The Sad part is notice boards still contain ads/circulars older than 3years!!

A very good place for sports. I had gone here for badminton but the court was bit damaged.. not maintained as it has to be. Still a good place to play sports. Parking structure is also very big.

Nicely maintained. Air-conditioning is good. Toilets are neat. I faced a long delay to get physical tickets after having booked tickets online for the PBL match. Moreover, though the entrance gate was mentioned as 1 while booking online, we were directed to go to gate 2. Such kind of inconveniences should be avoided.

Built in 1995 at a cost of Rs.20 crores, the Indoor Stadium has a seating capacity of 8,000 with a built up area of 2, 50,000 sq.ft. at four levels with galleries. The stadium is centrally air conditioned. The playing area comprises a wooden floor and is provided with floodlighting. Games such as Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Boxing, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Chess, Carrom, Handball etc. can be played in the stadium. In addition, one Skating Rink with floodlight, two concrete Basketball Courts with floodlight, clay Handball Court, a Fencing Hall with floodlight and Open Air Boxing Ring facilities are also available in the Stadium complex. Government have sanctioned Rs. 5 crores during 2012-13 for improving air-conditioning and lighting system in the stadium.

This is an indoor stadium with perfect Air-conditioning and have quite enough parking space. I have been to this place for Vijay awards, Pro kabbadi league matches and few more events.There are separate VIP entrances and place to park Caravans safely.The seating arrangement is quite huge and have better place for many important and big events.

It was a wonderful experience watching the volleyball matches in the stadium.
But it depends on the type of organizers who conduct the matches. Read the instructions very very carefully before starting from home because bags are mostly not allowed inside the stadium (still depends on the instruction).
Parking is a bit far away for the indoor stadium games for both 2 wheelers as well as 4 wheelers.
Connectivity to the stadium is the best since you can go by bus, train and obviously local transports....
