This is a big joke
No maintenance
If all the below happened ,then someone amassed a humongous portion of the money.
The place is in shambles..
Sad…

The stadium is located at Sydenhams Road, Park Town behind the Chennai Central suburban railway station and the Ripon Building. Tamil Nadu football team, which plays in Santosh Trophy and Chennaiyin FC, the Indian Super League team representing the city, use the stadium as their home ground.

The stadium was built on the area where the old Madras Zoo was located before it was shifted to its present location in at Vandalur. It was known as the Corporation stadium until the 1980s and used to witness houseful audience for even the city league matches. When C. R. Viswanathan, then the Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Football Association, was keen on bringing the Nehru Cup international football tournament to Chennai, a stadium of international standard was required. He approached the then Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa with a plan to convert the old Corporation stadium into a brand-new ultra-modern facility. The Chief Minister soon gave her approval and the new stadium was built in 1993, within a span of 234 days, at a cost of ₹440 million (US$5.5 million). In January 1993, the competition was conducted successfully in the new facility that was acknowledged to be arguably the best in the country also doubling up as a track and field venue. In 2012, the Government of Tamil Nadu renovated the indoor stadium at a cost of ₹120 million (US$1.5 million) with a new skating rink. In 2013, Government of Tamil Nadu upgraded the synthetic athletics track, football turf, floodlights and upgrading added a warm-up track north of the stadium at a cost of ₹331 million (US$4.1 million)

Excellent place for sports. Such a beautiful ground. Heaven for Athletes. However, the gallery is not up to the mark. Full of damaged chairs.

There are various level of seating available based on the ticket price and view. Seat are very low maintained and you can just and watch match. Never expect comfort. Parking are huge and free that's an added advantage. Restrooms are maintained average. Sometimes the securities and board allow local kids outer the stadium inside. That's not wrong and some people cannot afford the match ticket so the are allowing them to cheer for players but these locals speak rude language and process highly indiscipline activity like teasing people who came as family to watch the game.

I am utterly disappointed by the stadium infrastructure it's look like a haunted house where no paintings on wall ,even only one screen is available which I never gonna say big screen. I went for recently happened isl match between chennai vs Kerala and I could see people with 250 rs tickets are setting on 850 rs. Nobody gonna ask why and that's how careless was the people on incharge was there. But however the stadium lighting was good so u can atleast enjoy your football.

I went to watch ISL football match CFC vs OFC .It was a great experience. The seats are bit old but it is not that bad as in some comments. There is no two wheeler parking as i was directed to park in the road outside the stadium.

Went there for my daughter's Table Tennis tournament. The place needs lots of improvement. Gents Restroom was not up to the standards. International matches are being played. So, this definitely needs to be improved.
