Zunheboto, November 14 2018: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today called upon the Sumis to be warriors of unity, peace, reconciliation and all-round development and play a leading role in bringing permanent peace.
Addressing the Ahuna cum Mini Hornbill Festival at Zunheboto today, the Chief Minister stated that Sumi warriors were known for their bravery in the olden days and recalled that in his earlier tenure as Chief Minister, he had named Zunheboto as the Land of Warriors.
With the advent of civilization and Christianity, the people should become modern day warriors and champions by leading the people in noble and just causes.
He called upon the people to work collectively for the betterment of Naga society.
"You are special, you are hardworking.
The story of the Sema Naga Labour Corps 1917-18 is known to all Nagas.
Out of about 2000 Labour Corps, about half of that were Sumis.
This means you are warriors, adventurous and hard working," he said and appreciated the contributions of the Sumis to the Naga society.

I went there to visit my grandma and grandfather at zunheboto also some of my cousins so i went there, i was walking with my uncle and cousin brother which was near zunheboto ground and there was a sports going on by church youth members so we were watching them playing games after they've done some of the member came to us and asked to join them for some coffee and cake we accept there invitational after that we had a lot of fun talking to new people and making new friends and time pass out and it was getting night and we had to go home and has they were so that was the experience of ours at zunheboto ground.

The Football Ground located at Zunheboto town. The Ground covers an area of about 700/600 meters where games such as Football, Cricket, Basketball can be played. Public events are also organised here.

The 32nd Zunheboto Area Sports Association Kükami trophy has come to an end after more than a week of competition at DSCZ Ground Zunheboto.
Speaking at the closing function, the Guest of Honor, Hekuto Zhimomi, Senior Malaria Inspector, (SMI) Zünheboto said that the moto of ZASA "Friendship through sports" is very apt as through sports we are able to communicate better with each other, come closer to one another, know each other well and continue to build relationship through sports.
He asserted that sports is also helping people to stay fit and healthy and further encouraged the players and youths to distance themselves from alcohol and drug abuse as it is not only hampering the growth of an individual but it is also bringing chaos and confusion in the society.
The closing program was chaired by Kaviho Khuju, Games & Sports Secretary, ZASA while invocation was pronounced by Puloto Muru, Youth Pastor, Yemishe.
In the final match, Yemishe defeated Lizu Naghuto 2-0 with Topelo of Yemishe scoring a brace.
