We have ordered paneer dosa, ghee roast, jigarthanda and the tea. All were taste good. Good customer service. Nice ambience. Very spacious environment. Car parking is at the front. They do sell different types of sweets too. Overall this restaurant was 👍.

If you are on the Bangalore Chennai Highway and need a break, this is one good choice. The place is a spacious complex, good for parking, having a wholesome meal, a much needed stretching of limbs or need hygienic restrooms. There's no separate service lane. You just take a left from the highway (coming from Blore, that is).

While the name says Murugan Idli Shop, they serve many other items too (probably started as a humble idli shack and became successful restaurant chain). The food is regular South Indian fare of the region, served on banana leaves, and includes rice meals, and various avatars of idli, dosa, vada, uttapam, sweet pongal etc. The highlight items seem to be the ghee and chutney podi (dry chutney powder) rubbed idlis and uttapams. Every customer is first served a set of 4 chutneys.. from the flavours I guess they are: 1. fresh coconut, 2. mint with red chilli, 3. mint with green chilli, and 4. copra and tomato. They also served sambaar for all. These chutneys and the saabaars can be refilled. They service is quite interesting. The servers go around carrying various items in big trays. You just hail them and get what you want. We had onion uttapam (came rubbed with chutney podi, and I loved it!), masala dosa, idlis and coffee. We asked for ghee separately which they provided liberally in a katori. They also sell some sweets on the shop front. The eating hall is fairly large. It's a good place for big group travels, families or just solo.

The restrooms are in a separate building. They are clean, with both western and Indian style water closets. But the floor is constantly wet. Liquid soaps are provided, no toilet paper provided.

This legendary eatery is located before Krishnagiri in TN. The place is known for its iconic food items. It is a crowded place and please make sure you can wait for 15-30mins minimum most of the time of the day.

As soon as you get seated they lay down the banana leaf and serve 4 type of chutneys. We ordered their iconic Ghee Podi Idli which is soaked with ghee and topped with podi. The taste is fantastic. Next we had the vada which was crisp from outside and soft from inside. Good as well. They roam around with some of their food on tray.

We had their Podi Masala Dosai and the Ghee Masala Dosai. The dosai are okay okay here, nothing great about it. But dont miss out on the Sweet Pongal. Its made with Ghee and have flavors of cloves. It's nothing less than legendary. We even parcel it.

Overall, a amazing place to have food especially breakfast. The cost is on the higher side.

It's just the hype, food is really average. Service is so substandard. We were here at 6.45 am, they made us sit for 20 mts. We got ready to leave, so a server came took the order not only for us for everyone....it was utter chaos. People who came after us got food first. We tried to call their customer complaints number, but no luck. The podi idly was good with coconut and tomato chutney...but the mint and coriander chutney was not appetizing at all. One coffee is 30RS, seriously too high price.
Worst are the toilets. Very unhygienic and dirty. The water was not working, in any of the taps…..so you can guess the state of the women who went for long jobs…..really disgusting.

Extremely good south Indian food. Great ambience and service, ample parking and very well kept toilets.

The ideal time to reach there on weekends is 6.45 am (yes that early), beyond which the place gets super crowded and you end you waiting in queue! Since food is worth the wait, you can see a long queue for the same. Overall very well managed place.

Enjoy your food and thank me later ☺️

Neat and clean ambiance. We went there for dinner . There was less crowd only. Spacious car parking . Food quality was good but poor serving. Servers are not serving properly here. They forget we order. Parcel facility is also available. Idli with 4 varieties of chutney& sambar is a must try dish here. Sambar vadai , ghee roast, onion podi dosa were also good. Sweet stall is also available inside. But the person inside that stall didn’t have the mood to sell the sweets. Poor service(salesman.)

Awesome place. A must try for all travelers. It is hard to find a very hygienic place to eat when traveling. This place ticks all boxes. Toilets too sparkle here :-).. But know that we were probably their first visitors in the morning. Not sure if hygiene remains the same later in the day. We stopped here for breakfast, loved it. Ample parking space but lot of people visit the place for breakfast as the cars kept coming. We reached early, just when they were opening up and the place was empty. As soon as they opened all seats were taken and parking too was almost full.

Favourite pitspot for breakfast while traveling through this route.
On weekends there maybe some waiting time.
Service is very quick.
Food is amazing and a little expensive too.
Ample parking available and also relatively clean toilets.
The podi idly is amazing with the filter coffee.
