MSME - Development Institute, Kolkata previously known as Small Industries Service Institute (SISI), Calcutta, under Ministry of MSME, Government of India, with its four Branch Institutes at Durgapur, Port Blair, Siliguri and Suri provides assistance for the promotion and Development of Micro, Small and Medium Scale Industries of the State of West Bengal and the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The Workshop and Laboratory attached to the Institute and its Branch Institutes provided common facility services in Machine Shop, heat Treatment, Carpentry, Ceramics & Pottery Development. The Institute also under took developmental job works of Jigs and fixtures, manufacturing of press tools, cutting dies, foaming dies, plastic molding dies etc.
