The ashakulam village is home to the Narikuravar tribes of Tamil Nadu. They fall under the nomadic tribes category and make beads jewellery with colourful beads and pearls. For many years they have been making this jewellery and earning very poorly. Their work is very beautiful and simple. They also collect nails and skin of the fox and sell it to the people.
