One of the best girls schools in the town ..It consists of a boarding house located within the convent and a day school. The school is situated in the town of Tangasseri, with the Arabian sea as the backdrop . Tangasseri, the site of ancient Portuguese, English and Dutch settlements, has an Anglo indian community. The school celebrated its sesquicentennial (150 years) anniversary in July 2018.The school was founded by Mother Veronica to cater to the educational needs of girls, empowerment of women and the less privileged. In 1889, it was recognised by the erstwhile Madras presidency as a 'European Convent School'. The establishment changed its name to mount carmel convent anglo indian girls higher secondary school when India gained independence in 1947, before which it was known as the Mount Carmel European school The strength of the school is around 4000. The school is affiliated to the CISCE syllabus . The students are known for their fluency in the English language .Has both boys and girls upto class 4 thereafter its a girls school

Just an average school...Its better to study in kerala syllabus schools than these institutions which rob money in name of fees...Teachers of state syllabus are well qualified than those teaching here...At the time of corona crisis they are taking advantage by collecting such huge amounts as fees...Even though the fees is high during other times it is cruel of them to rob parents at the time of such crisis...When there is normal academics they remit fees for lab, smartcalss ,library etc....Now they dont have to buy fees for these...They dont have to spent money even for electricity...Still I cant understand why they are not reducing the fees...I dont know whether they are paying the non teaching staff at this time...Now the burden of teaching the children is on the shoulder of parents...The parents who come after a tiring day are having hard times due to these online classes...All the things that the teachers did are now done by parents...I saw many parents, who themselves have much education qualification toiling behind these online classess...It may be easy for parents who have education qualifications but it is not the case with all....Moreover they are going to conduct onam exams for students...It is okay for high school students...But for the primary students it is totally unnecessary....Even the universities are not conducting exams at times of this crisis....Recently I saw that the primary students should use A4 suze ruled paper for writing revision work....I am a degree student...I had to write assignments....Our professor asked us to write in any paper available because of the difficulty to get out and buy paper at this time....It is at this same time that the school is asking primary students to use A4 size paper😠.....I think that the school is unaware of the pandemic...The only positive about the institution is that students get to speak in english more fluently

One Of the Most Oldest English Medium Schools in Kollam District , holding 133 years of age till now. The School Was built in the year AD 1888. Another Special Feature about the School is its location near the Sea Shore, providing a cool wind Beautiful View of the Sea,to the Children. The School is well profound for its well Reputation in all fields of Academics and Extra curricular activities.

Worst school to exist in kollam now. In the olden time MCC had it’s fame and glory but now it’s just a wretched institution with old outdated teachers. If you are trying to get admission there I would suggest not to. I was a student there years back and I still have people who study there having issues. Politics between teachers end up eating the students mental health and education quality. Bullying by teachers is even more than the kids. Teaching is also very poor as I had a chemistry teacher who used to make each student read the content according to the seating arrangements and she used to sleep. She literally used to snore.
