📍 Mayflower Cafe & Bakery, Chennai.
The atmosphere is pretty sleek. Not insta-worthy interiors but they are pleasant to look at and felt serene.
The customer service was appalling. We had to wait for almost 10 minutes for the person to get off his cellphone and take the order.
The crystal chicken dimsums were good and so was the orange chicken starter. We had ordered nasi gurang and moon fan fried rice for the mains unknowingly that they're both going to be similar. The server didn't suggest that it would be the same either. He just blindly took the order and left us to be surprised when the food arrived.
The taste was alright but we'd have loved to taste something else had we known both the dishes would be the same.
The Americano tasted really good and the cucumbers ginger juice was nice too.
We had tiramisu for desserts and it didn't taste as good as how tiramisu originally is. The biscuit didn't have any coffee flavour in it and the cocoa dust on the tiramisu didn't even cover the whole jar. May be it was tweaked for Mayflower but the name didn't have any indication of it. It unfortunately gave me a bad acid reflux too. So, my recommendation would be to skip it if possible.
The whole experience felt a bit pricey for the quality, flavour and the hospitality.
