On my recent Amritsar visit I was keen on trying out authentic Amritsari kulcha and chhole. We went to this restaurant on a friend's recommendation and loved the experience. The best part is that this restaurant is associated with Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and serves some of his recipes.

We ordered:

Masala papad - Punjabi papad with a different taste
Amritsari Kulcha (came with chhole) - One was big and filling enough for me. Had whole dhaniya seeds on the top and a tasty stuffing.
Pindi Chhole (the waiter didn't inform that we would have repeat order) - Tasted good
Kadhi pakoda - Lovely flavours, tasted great with jeera rice.
Lassi - Thick, creamy and came in a HUGE glass. It's a complete meal in itself!

The food seemed a bit overpriced but the taste and portions make it seem worth it. The ambience is good and the staff is attentive. Overall, an Amritsar experience I wouldn't forget anytime soon.

Excellent service and food. Has a variety of food in the menu. We tried Crispy Fried Lamb, Jeera pulao, and Dal makhni, with a large glass of lassi. The lamb was crispy and had a great savoury flavour. The dal makhani was not spicy and went well with the jeera rice. The lassi was awesome and filling, served in a big glass. Overall all the dishes ordered by us can feed 2-3 people comfortably.

We went to this restaurant on 06-03-2022, we are around 8 people. As other mentioned prices are exorbitant. But we expect honesty on pricing as it was a premium restaurant. But it was not.

In the final billing, u need to consider the following details to not get cheated

1) service charge(7%)

As per govt rules, there is only CGST and SGST but these hotels add service charge without our consent. If you ask only they say it is not mandatory else they didn't say anything and charge exorbitant price. for Us it is Rs .1153,
Even later we asked they returned with discounted amount reason. (As a pro member I get discount on zomato but they cited the discount and return only discount amount. But they get full amount from zomato.)

2) Check on waterbottle prices:

Its common waterbottle is pricy in high end restaurant(RS 100/ bottle), but if u drink normal water and himalayan bottle water(this brand they give us). both taste same. So better refuse water bottle, also check on bill for water bottle is included or not. They included the bottle later we left restaurant we get to know. we contacted them but no response on refund.

3) Food not that much great.

Most of the food taste common nothing special especially desert, we ordered kesar kulfi rabbadi they simply put a spoon full of rabbadi over kulfi (Quantity wise) and charged Rs.245. even kulfi quantity so small and not even worth Rs100, So my suggestion go for some other good restaurant, for example we go for ZIO last month its amazing experience also food taste great but restaurant size is limited try to do book and visit if you are going in a group.

my rating max is 2.5 that's all, If you have too much excess money to waste on a little spacious restaurant with substandard taste you can visit "The Yellow chilli.

We went to this Restuarant after hearing that it is a franchise of famous chef Sanjeev Kapoor, but was little disappointed. We took methi malai kofta , Amritsari kulcha and curd rice. Curry was little salty , rice was not boiled in the curd rice. Even it was lacking cleanliness. Prices of the items are very high.

Not so fresh, unhealthy ingredients, overpriced Stuff. We ordered Dal Makhani and kadhai Paneer with some breads. Dal was too infused with Baking Soda and Refined oils. Kadhai Paneer too sighted of food color for its pristine picture heavy color. Breads were not fully done. Staff was polite though. Absolute lack of value for money and health.

If I could describe this hotel in one word it would be "extraordinary" They provide so many dishes which are absolutely amazing and tasty and worth for every penny. You can feel the aroma and infused masala's in every bite. Just a classic place with neat and beautiful ambiance. And Especially their white sauce pasta and non veg pizza 😍😍😍😍 Must try hotel.

The Yellow Chili by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor offers an absolutely huge menu of Indian dishes, so choosing between the myriad of different options is the biggest challenge! Being in Amritsar, however, I decided to go local with two dishes from the region. We started with the Amritsari Machhli, which came with seven pieces of local fish covered and fried in a spiced batter, and served with tartar sauce on the side. I also got the Sarson ka Saag, made of earthy puréed spinach and served with a Makki ki Roti, a chewy flatbread made of yellow corn flour. We also ordered two Indo-Chinese dishes including the Hakka Noodles and the Crispy Honey Chili Chicken, made of deep-fried chicken chunks in a sweet and savory sauce and served with crispy noodles on the side. The prices here were on the high side, but every dish was fresh, delicious, and made of quality ingredients.
