The Raviz Ashtamudi

It had been one of my best stay ..awesome location & hotel is too good both hospitality services as well architecture wise ..4D/3N felt as if all worth money spend ...only food is cooked with coconut oil mostly at their restaurant..loved its infinity pool as well their complimentary cruising in Ashtamudi lake by sunset in Kerala Houseboat. I loved the experience of my stay there;

One of the best hotels in town . Located on the banks of ashtamudi lake and the view from hotel and rooms were so impeccable and breathtaking!!
Very friendly polite and courteous staff .As we were 3 persons they even upgraded the room. Many thanks to Mr. prithvi, Roopesh and the staff in front dusk . The restaurant had limited meal options for breakfast but still ok . The staff were good and helpful as well

We had an amazing time and excellent experience at the resort. The hospitality here is unmatched and at a higher level than offered by other 5 star resorts. A wonderful experience while staying and food was great as well. The staff at the restaurant takes good care of the guests, especially the kids. A must stay on a Kerala trip !

Now it will go to the leela group. Despite being a star hotel, the food quality was very poor. So it is better to have breakfast in the morning. Boneless chicken is not made in non veg. The water flowing to the back side of the hotel (backwater) is sewage.

This review is only about the Keraleeyam restaurant. The ambience looks very royal but the restaurant service was very disappointing. We haven't stayed there but wanted to have dinner at their restaurant and the staff just wanted to make us go for the buffet as they told us in advance that ala carte would take 50mins. One staff member even went ahead and offered buffet at "discounted" rate which did not sound very pleasing to me. We ordered Nirvana and waited hoping that the long wait time would be worth it and it would live upto the famous Chef Pillai's Nirvana. To be honest it doesn't do justice to Chef Pillai's Nirvana.Though we didn't order many items the staff also managed to mess it up somehow. Few staff were courteous. Overall a let down.

It's probably the only luxury 5 star hotel in kollam City. They have a day package, which include a buffet lunch and evening tea. It also includes a small house boat ride in the lake. We have also access to the pool and other facilities like table tennis. Worth the money.

Very disappointing experience. The long, arduous 2.5 hours drive from Trivandrum Airport is not worth making to come to this rundown property. While the views are nice, everything else is pathetic (poor quality of food and service in the restaurant, unresponsive housekeeping, poor upkeep of room furniture, and practically no recreational facilities). To be avoided!
