The place is slightly located in the interior. You have to go walking to the property. This is no issue as the staff helps you to pick and drop your luggage.
The premises is beautiful overlooking the backwaters. The rooms are clean.
The staff arranged for our shikara ride. As we love exploring the place, we decided to go walking along the backwaters. The staff provided us detailed map for the same.

Loved the experience.

Beautiful place to stay, particularly before/after a houseboat experience. Idyllic setting for sitting watching the boats go by. They arranged a scooter which was helpful for getting to restaurants/other places nearby. You can either order food in from their menu, bring drinks to store in their fridge, or ride/taxi elsewhere - the buffet at the Ramada nearby (880pp) was excellent.

The varnished wood structure is beautiful. Air conditioned rooms are comfortable, mosquito nets at the time were not particularly needed (late Sept).

This was a beautiful little place next to the lake. The room was cute (the wooden one). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The morning tea was so so good! They don't serve dinner at the resort which creates a bit of prob but one can order in.

The good part:
Most rooms are spacious and can accomodate 2 plus 1, which means any type of groups can find their place here
It'll give you the text book definition backwaters homestay experience. Stereotypical Kerala vibes can be found here. Wake up early and just watch house boats move around for no reason. The host would take care of you like family.

The adjustable:
The extra bed isn't really comfortable, but the quality of pillow and linen do give you the above said textbook Kerala guesthouse.
There is no restaurant, but they would arrange food for you at anytime upon request. This may take time though.
You may hear mice menacing overhead but that's part of typical Kerala homestay. Oh and yes, your sneeze will wake your neighbour up in the next room.
The walk from the paid parking location to the property is alright if you're here for the experience.

The bad:
Mosquitoes. Atleast not in the room because I believe they smoke up the room with repellents and incandescents, so asthmatic people be ready for a trigger.

Almost at all times during the day, outside the room, if you decide to sit down you will be mauled by 300,000 mosquitoes. Bring all types of creams, apply them and then sit inside a PPE suit unless you decide not to sit your tired bottoms down.

We were here only for One night.

This property is a exactly touched to the backwaters. The view is good.

Also the Manager for this property is a very kind hearted and friendly person.

Rooms here a decently good. Do not expect them to be Porsche or lavish. Decent rooms with clean washrooms.

Pros : water touch property.
Budget friendly.
Friendly staff.
Peaceful environment.

Cons :
Paid parking is 300metre away from property.
Food needs to be ordered from outside.

Good things: We were hosted by Jeswin. He is an amazing host. The hotel is a little walk away from the road (which is understandable as it is on the bank of the lake) so he helped us with our luggage to the hotel. The wooden room was clean, mosquito bed was provided as well.

Bad things: The toiled provided could be a bit better. It was a little smelly. Some perfume could be appreciated.

Absolutely beautiful stay at Malayalam Lake Resort! The location is very good for all activities such as Kayaking, Canoe rides, boat rides and cruises. José was amazing from the first minute we arrived, we didn't have a reservation, so he showed us all the various room options available which was nice. We stayed in a ground floor base room, which was basic but exactly what we needed, the location and setting was perfect right on the riverfront. It can be slightly noisy in the mornings due to boats heading out for the day. José helped us plan kayaking in the morning and also had a great walking route through the villages of the backwaters.

I stayed here for 3 nights and 2 days wherein paid 11.5 k this included the room and service charges. The amenities mentioned that they would offer breakfast however upon arrival understood from host that it is not included. There are no plates, refrigerator or stove in the room so if you need store something the hosts will store it in their personal refrigerator and you have to ask for any disposable plates.
The room which I stayed in, isn’t well maintained

Pros would be the lake right next to the resort which gives you beautiful view

People are friendly and humble - they provide guidance on how to kill time by visiting tourist places or doing activities near by
