Situated at the one end of gulab bagh. It is known as 'victoria palace ' previously now there is a public library available for all. So many type of magazine and newspaper. Calm atmosphere and average settings facilities almost have rush because of students that are preparing for competitive exams. Its a good place between the garden to seat and read something. All basic Facilities are available like - drinking water, washroom , fans and ventilation etc. It remains close on Tuesday. Overall a good place for study.👌👌

While walking around Gulab Bagh park, I saw this building. At first I thought it was a palace. It turns out it’s actually a library, though it could’ve been a palace at one time since the park was built for Maharana fateh Singh in the late 19th century. As a library, it’s fairly typical for India, with lots of old school paper based newspapers, books, periodicals and a popular place for students.

It’s a pretty looking Indo-Islamic building. Predominately white. It has contrasting red coloured domes on the towers. The building is worth a look if visiting the park.

Apart from the natural beauty, Sajjan Nivas Garden has something more to offer you. It is a library that was constructed by Maharana Fateh Singh. The Library is known as Saraswati Bhawan Library. This library houses books related to history, archaeology, Indology and several manuscripts that date back to the early medieval period. Gulab Bagh also encompasses a museum, which was originally known as Victoria Hall Museum. It is famous for its collection of antiques, curios, royal household items and other interesting relics from the past.

Nice old Haveli inside the Gulab Bagh. Made by the earstwhile rulers of the Mewar Kingdom. The architecture and build is very good, and stands proud to this day. Lots of space in the corridors for reading. Outside there are gardens where you can sit and relax. Tourists not interested in books can admire it from outside. The palm trees give a wonderful scene outside.

The students here are very disciplined and do not make any noise at all. This is a very good and free library to read.

Gulab Bagh encompasses a library, Saraswati Library, which was originally a museum known as Victoria Hall Museum. This was the first museum in the whole of Rajasthan, constructed by Maharan Fateh Singh in 1887, which was made operational for public on 1 November 1890. In 1968, the Museum was shifted to the City Palace, and was renamed as Pratap Museum, while the building was converted into a public library.
