City Central Library -

Nice place to sit and study, Environment is of calm. There is also a good collection of books and magzines, Examination books, literautre books etc..

The City Central Library is the biggest library after state Central library with 1000 students and 500 readers visit library every day. It works on all days (except public holidays and Mondays) from 8am to 8pm. more than thousand books, cleaned area, good staff,

History

Has good collection of books ranging from novels, academics etc.
Has good collection of newspapers.
No journals/magazines but that's fine.

Staff are ok.
Has an aquaguard.

You cannot charge your mobile phone and cannot take bag inside.

They close at 20:00 but I wish they had mosquito repellent also.

Libraries are an oasis of knowledge and celebration. An institution with importance not matched by many.

However, this library has failed to live up basic level of expectation, despite being housed in an enormous heritage building, in the heart of the city.

Most part of the library lay unused, with empty racks, dis-organised, unscientific arrangement of books, non functioning kiosks. Power points are plastered!

Hopefully, other govt. run libraries across the state and the city dont reflect this woeful functioning.

You have an important assignment. For peace you come to library. One cordial staff allows you to sit and work on your laptop. Battery power decreases after some usage. And you can not charge your laptop in the library. (There are ample switches, though)

A perfect library in the heart of Mysore city. Large collectiof national and international books. A useful onespot for reference books.

I gava one star for book maintain. This library staff they are talkative. When some is reading they should be silent. But the library looked like fish market. Better than that over all good fully disturbance
