Patara is a very old group of villages which was a control centre during British era. It constitutes near about 22 villages. The major inhabitants are Chauhan in the area, however a mixed caste population exists here. The Patara is also known for the local goddess Nema Devi, whose famous temple is situated at Fazilpur Patara. A rush of devotees can be seen here. A local fair is also conducted here. It is a very prosper area of the district mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh.
