Tallakulam Head Post Office

This building and the office has been in existence since70s and has undergone little change . Earlier telephone exchange and a telegraph office were all part of the buildings..Telephone exchange is still there and with the new technological advancements the telegraph office met its demise..sadly...

This is the second biggest post office in Madurai district. It is located opposite to Tamukkam ground.

Even 1 rupee revenue stamp not available at this branch

It would have been better if they can maintain proper social distancing during this pandemic and queue. The staffs and customers are not even wearing masks. Nevertheless, the staffs are very much helpful.

Yesterday I have visited for Aadhar name & address change. the Person one who served as (Mr.Rajan) was really Good. Requested to wait for arranging and compiling documents / requirements. and i was asked to visit the Postmaster, He is really kind enough and has given attestation, the lady one who is near by the Postmaster was also kind enough. The Person one who supported me for all these is Mr.Tamilarasan, really customer friendly.
I really wondering that I was in Post office or elsewhere... really good experience.
but IPPB Indian post payment bank office near by Post office was not that much up to the mark. (I was attracted only through the flex board (Jeevan Praman) displayed near by IPPB)

IPPS is very good interior and facilities, but always bitter experience... not servicing properly (except one) and forced me to do Jeevan Praman certification to Post office, though they can do the same service.
instead Post office with less infra structure unlike IPPB,
people of Post office were really kind. A sweet surprise.
