Only thing which worth the struggle was boating it's a great experience , If you could give some extra to the boat driver then they may perform some stunds which will be a good experience. You may have to wait for long time to get boating tickets and operators here may delay the timings as they like.

Nice place to visit on a cool day. Boating is enjoyable.beautiful view of the surroundings from the top of the dam. Unprofessional security guards maintaining Jeep queue. Sufficient parking space.

We went on a wrong time. Not much water in the dam. You need park and walk for at least 500 m to reach the steps. Then you need to climb at least 200 steps to reach the top. You have park, boating, shops and the view would have been mesmerising if there was water

Amazing Dam near Padinjarathara in Kerala, amazing view from the Dam towards the montains, the river, towards the nature.
Place is nicely maintained with a small park for children to play and a new recreation centre coming up started by an young entrepreneur - Jibin, with dashing cars, 12d simulator, shooting, games etc.
Overall a nice place to visit.

Parking space is good, they can improve the parking space by making flooring and shelter. As it is tourist hub, After all they charging 40 rs per vehicle, they have to maintain clean rest rooms and maintain parking facility.

We visited the Banasurasagar Dam in December 2018, after driving 24 km from Vythiri Village Resort. The parking lot can accommodate a lot of cars, vans and buses. Parking charges are ₹30 for a car, and entry charges are ₹30 per person, and extra is charged for still and video cameras (no charges for cell-phone cameras). After leaving the car here we had three options. Hire a private jeep, wait for a shuttle bus, or hike up to the dam.
