It's a nice park which is specially designed astronomically. You can see a Sun dial and a kund here.
And one more thing there is a specific pillers from where we supposed to see all the planets of our solar system.you can come here in the morning or evening Till 07:00PM.Timing are slightly different in winters.

Place is too good. Well cleaned. Free entry.
Best part of the park is peace and you'll find sun clock which is UPs first clock (Source- locals).
In pond you'll find fish.
Peaceful place for student you can visit and read/learn without any disturbance.

Two stones with Persian and Hindi inscriptions dating back to 1854 were found during the cleaning of Surajkund Park in Old City, Lucknow.
Officials supervising the work said the writing in Hindi says that the pond was cleaned and renovated by Rai Tulsi Ram around 161 years back.
However, the Persian inscription on the second stone was not clear. Officials said the script would be readable once the stone is cleaned.

Neat and tidy place.
You can wait here till your show starts in Indira Gandhi Planetarium.
There's a lake.
Very green. Good stopping point to rest for a while.
Right on a chowk.
And epitaphs that enumerate various planets and astronomers.
