It was used by the people of the town for several purposes including drinking water. The pond has been used for religious rituals also.
The present condition of the pond is discouraging and the efforts being undertaken have failed to bring it back to the old glory. If sincere efforts are made for real upliftment for the water body, it can turn out to be a good tourist attraction and serve as an option of amusement park for the people of the town.
