Chowdwar , Cuttack has many surprises and being an ancient place , remains a mystery. When discovered brings in delight and pride to as resident of this remarkable city. Locally known as King Virata's Seat , (Mahabharata Period ) located very near to the central jail. The archaeological remains of Baddhi reveal two phases ofstructural evidence after the recent excavation conducted by A.S.I Bhubaneswar Circle. The first phase has a laterite temple having pabhaga of four mouldings and four entrances. The second phase has a raised pillared hall with eight pillars; two on each side of laterite are still in situ over the earlier one.

Good place, it is situated at Chowdwar.. It is also known as virat gadi. Historical place. So many years ago. A king was live here. This is beautiful place. Lovely garden are there. Big green field is there.. College students are celebrating their birthday here. Good place under cuttack district..

This place is a heritage place and protected ancient monument a large garden but not cared properly. Needs tobe cared else it's so peaceful area. It is now a days lack of boundary walls and local unsocial people are making the ground polluted by throwing plastics and liquor bottles here and there. It's also lack of security by which all are taking this advantage. No garden care taker is here so all plants and beauty is destroyed. So soon it will be a fertile land only.
