I am giving 4 stars because there is always a room for improvement. For now it is maintained fairly well. It's quite specious with lots of places for recreation. It is an ideal place to take your children out because there are lots of places to place. There is an exclusive children's park, there are lots of games to play ( ofcourse, with payments, not free). There are lots of staffs for assistance if you need help. There is specious parking for vehicles. Over all its a good place to spend time.

Green spaces in Dimapur being severely limited, one wishes this place had been developed to cater to a wider variety of tastes. The facilities for kids (creaky swings etc) are passable, but there's little to do for other age groups. Some lovely greenery, certainly, but the place presents a picture of callous neglect. There are no walking / jogging (leave alone cycling) paths: only dusty tarred roads built years ago & abandoned to their neglected deaths. Thankfully, the entry fees are low, although activities inside are charged. The few food stalls left much to be desired: it took twenty minutes for our tea to fetch up.

Good place for recreation but need a lot of safety measures around the Pond & boating.
The Pond is literally in the middle with almost all 4corners is occupied with either playground for children & sidewalk, the pond need barricade/wall for child safety. Boating doens't have safety vest & allowing children below 2years should be prohibited, they should also not allow more than 4+1kid of 3-4years. I've encountered recently on my last visit a kid probably around 1-2years old crying out loud in fear somewhere near the overbridge restaurant, the mother passed the kid to another lady from the side of the pond without turning back to it's starting point.

Green Park Dimapur

A cool place to relax and hangout, Green park is one of the most amazing tourists attractions in the district of Dimapur, in the state of Nagaland. The place is also visited by the locales of the village as well. As the name suggests, the park is full of greenery and is located in within the State Horticulture Nursery, surrounded by various attractive things such as restaurant, resting shades, boating options and other options to relax and rejuvenate inside the park. The recent innovation has transformed the park for good. There are new additions- rock climbing, children park, motor boating, cycling services etc. A nominal entry fee is required to enter the park. You can also organize private events and parties on days other than those that are open for public visit. The park would be an ideal spot for picnics or social gatherings.

GETTING THERE

You can reach Dimapur boarding the state buses and then hire private taxis and auto rickshaws that run to and fro to reach the green park easily.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

Nagaland offers a wonderful weather during the winter season in the months of October to March. You can visit Green park during the cool and comfy months when the tourism is at its peak.
