Once upon it was glory of west Nagpur, but now not in good state. It is maintained by NMC very shabbily and unclean state. Ticket window was close but park was open. May be, it is presently under renovation, as one of the boards says so. However was reasonably crowded. Young, old People, Sr. Citizens, Childrens, ladies seen playing, exercising on open gym, walking, jogging, doing Yoga as per their choices and likings. Since on the bank of Ambazari lake, lots of greenery, Good environmental ambience is plus point. Nice place for enjoying friends/family picnics. Kids will definately enjoy emmencely.

Beautiful Garden with Amazing Views!

Better to come here before 7:30 AM in Summers, because of Nagpur's Scorching heat, and also you get to visit this in the golden hour, to get some beautiful pics.

As you can see, this place is truly photogenic, and attracts lots of morning-walkers.

This place is very good for morning walk. There is no charges to enter in the Garden. The garden is beautifully maintained and have very large space. People come here to do excercise and mediation. You can find Varieties of trees and plant in the garden. Some part of garden is not maintained. Playground is there for children. Do visit and enjoy the pleasunt natural atmosphere here. People enjoy swimming in the lake beside Garden. You can here by Metro.

Situated right beside Ambazari lake, the garden was established in late 1950s on a huge area of around 18 acres of land, managed and preserved by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
It once boasted of a musical fountain, various electric rides, and amusement games.
Many a generations of children have spent their childhood memories here, a popular leisure place.
But now as the garden is closed for public due to complete makeover or renovation, all this have been discontinued. It used to be frequented by walkers in the morning and evening, but now the walkers prefer to walk on the adjoining lake.
The lake was built in the year 1870 to supply water to the city and it overflow is also famous during heavy rains. It was surrounded by mango trees, hence the name Ambazari as "Amba" means "mango" in Marathi.

I wish this place was taken care of by the authorities. Even if that meant asking for a 20 rupee entry fee ticket. The garden is so different from its past self. It is broken, not taken care of, or maintained. I can see a lot of stray dogs and broken rides and swings that are broken beyond repair. Unfortunate and bad. This place used to be something that the kids would visit daily in the evenings and crowds would gather around evening musical fountains and Columbus rides. It seems all is lost.
