A great escape from the hustle of Thrissur city. It's located about 40 km from the city and there are plenty of buses regularly plying to the dam. Do visit the earthen dam, nature interpretation centre, herbal garden, and the canteen that also sells forest produce. Although it's a treat to visit in the monsoons, summer time is the best for wildlife viewing.

For site I want to give 5 star, this is an underrated place I think, cause no person was there when I visited. And that's the plus point, otherwise most of tourist places we find overcrowded now these day. Beautiful location and good place for bird watching. But you don't find any place if you're hungry there.

Chimmony dam is a scenic dam amidst hills and lush greenery....very calm and soothing to mind.... But when telling about Chimmony dam park, there isnt much... Still lacks amenities like public toilets, rest rooms, basic cafeterias...all that present there is a museum hosting some geographical maps, scientific names of some wild plants.. Thats all.. U have the choice for buying some honey and fruit squash items from the outlet there.... More considerations have to be given for developing tourism at chimmony....like in peechi a good garden can be constructed, boating can be reopened which will be a fantastic experience for travellers.....
