Karanji Lake - Park / Boating / Birds Sanctuary

Fantastic place for boating and having fun. Great place to visit along with your family. Park is well maintained. Inside the park, there is an children's play area and a bird santuary. U can see peacock and Swan nearby. Wonderful experience. Variety of trees and plants

The big cage with the birds roaming freely inside is the most beautiful and attractive thing I love about this place. As soon as we enter the cage and observe birds closely, the feeling is mesmerizing.

Apart from this the sunsets are beautiful from the lake view point.
Boating charges can be reduced a bit. Anyhow the boating atmosphere is at another level completely surrounded by trees . It is a scenic beauty and worth a try.
The place is good for an evening walk and cycling.

Good lush and green garden with tall tree. You will surely feel a connect with nature. The lake and it's boating was a great way to spend time with family. There is bird park that one need yo visit inside the park witb peacock and black swan roaming around and coming near to you that's a different experience all together. Also it has a child park for kids to play. Surely it's each penny paid here is worth for it's value. A must recommend place if you visit Mysore

A very big area in heart of the city and if you are a nature lover, it is a very good place to visit.

Karanji Lake was on my cards during my Mysore Visit and I saw a lot of reviews quoting this place as a must-visit one.
Greenery, Kids' Play area & Boating are simply superb.

I spend a 2 hours of quality time enjoying my holidays with my family during my visit here.

Be cautious about Monkeys in the Park. Use of plastics is discouraged here and they collect nominal fee for carrying them at entrance.

This place is really beautiful. Its very big ,surrounded by greenary everywhere. There are birds like peacock , pheasant ,ducks etc that are left free to roam in the park . The entry ticket for adults is 50rs per person and the parking for 2 wheeler is 30 rs . They don't accept online payment .its only cash .The one thing that was missing here was food . There are no small shops or snack stalls inside .

Main attractions are
- boating in the lake
- birds park
- kids play area ( which has lot of variety with sand)

There is also path from lake to zoo. Combo ticket can be taken for covering both.

Lake view is very beautiful, especially if you go with boating with driver, birds can be watched very closely & boating also can be enjoyed.

In the birds park, peacock, swan, duck, ... Can be watched very closely, everyone will enjoy it, kids will enjoy more.

Kids play area has lot of variety of equipments .

Entry ticket is Rs 50, combo (lake + zoo) is Rs 130.

Lake side cleanliness needs improvement

Timings- 10:00 am to 5:30-6:00 pm depending on the demand and crowd.

This was one of the best experiences I've had in my life. The aviary park, especially- walking around in a large area where birds are free to move around among us and around us, was an amazing feeling.

There are black swans, parrots, peacocks, white peacocks and peahens, hens and roosters in the aviary park. Of course, we should be careful not to disturb them and move around slowly.

Right outside the aviary park is an orchid garden with exotic flowers. Very pleasing to the eyes.

There's also a huge lake where boating is allowed. 2 and 4 peddler boats are available for us to peddle ourselves, and if there's a group of 5-6 people, there are two boats which are operated by a professional.

I visited in the last weekend of Feb '22, the butterfly park was closed. Maybe it was off season. But the walkway along the stretch of the park has a lot of trees and plants and is maintained very well by the crew. There's also a section for kids' play area.

Do visit the place!

This is a must visit place in Mysore. This is a great place for kids and bird lovers. Birds are kept in a huge enclosure inside which you can walk and spend time with them. A lot of butterflies, peacocks, white peacock, ducks, roosters, hen etc are inside the big enclosure and you can walk inside the enclosure and watch the birds from closeby. Park also has boating, these are manually operated boats and not motor boats. Park also has a big watch tower which you can climb using the stairs and check out the awesome views and birds.

Park has an entry fees and parking fees as well. Ample car parking is available. Park also has a lot of different plants and walking track along the lake.

For children there are a lot of swings, Slides and see-saw. Children love this place.
