One of the best tourist attractions in Darbhanga, Chandradhari Museum was established on 7 December 1957 on the north bank of Mansarovar Lake. Later it was shifted in the present double-storey building in 1974. The museum got its name from the Late Chandradhari Singh who donated all the rare artifacts and other valuable objects for the formation of this museum.
It is divided into eleven galleries namely Glass Gallery, Textile Gallery, Miniature Painting Gallery, Modern Paintings, Stone Sculpture Gallery, Wood Gallery, Mother of Pearls Gallery, Natural History Gallery, Ivory Gallery, Brass Gallery and Special Gallery. Moreover, there is a Strong Roomwhich houses Gold coins, ring of precious stones, Panchajanya Shankh, Dakshinavarti Shankh, Shree chakra etc.
Before heading for an excursion to Chandradhari Museum, you should remember that:

it has its own small library which has different types of cultural & historical books.
