This pillar was erected in 1998 in memory of Mahatma Gandhi, who had visited the place in 1917 to inquire about the plight of the indigo farmers. As of now, the area is inside the campus of SSB battalion HQ stationed at Piprakothi, and hence there are hardly any visitors from outside. The nearby house is used as Battalion's Officer's Mess. One can enjoy some good view of the nearby lake of you can get there.
