Lakhimpur Pukhuri Park

Very nice place. One the main tourist destination around the district. Well maintained pond, also people come over to avail fishes.

A large pond with a historical background which is located at Lakhimpur village of Darrang district, Assam. The location is beautiful. Beautiful view of water with fresh air,full of nature. But I guess tourists are not concerned about the environment of the place. I have seen too many bottles, and plastics have been thrown on the bank of the pond and some of the bottles were floating which is very disappointing . As the pond is too old with a historical background, everyone of locality and visitors must be aware of this. It's our place,we must keep it clean and beautiful.

It was nice to visit.. full of lovely natural beauty..
But the committee should keep someone for maintenance

Very nice place to chill during summer, but its starting to fill with plastic wrappers all though dustbins are provided people rather throw wherever they are done eating. Even smashed glass pieces are to be found so be careful and do not walk bare foot.

nice picnic spot for like small family gathering or kind of little stress relieving kinda outdoors .

Its a huge fishery with a wide sides or shore where you can i mean use that place as a picnic spot .

nothing more to expect but yeah the greenery and plants with definitely provide some relaxation to your eyes , so its a good go for like last minute plan changed and with small kids to have fun like without much drama and all .

The Lakshimpur Pukhuri was un used and un attended up to 1979 and Pukhuri was covered by thick jungle. The Lakshimpur Pukhuri management committee namely as the Lakshimlur Anchalik Min Mahal Samittee (LAMMS) was formed in 1979. The LAMMS renovated the Pukhuri having grant from the Deptt. of Fisheries, Govt of Assam in1990 and then I was the secretary of the Lakshimpur Pukhuri management committee. Now I am an Advisor of the committee. At present it is an attractive place for tourists. More over the Lakshimpur area is an advanced area in commercial fish production centering the Lakshimpur Pukhuri.
