KUNDAN (1964-2014) is the first Indian Broad
Gauge Diesel Electric Locomotive (WDM2) built
by Diesel Locomotive Works (DLw) Varanasi
and dedicated to the nation by Shri Lal Bahadur
Shastri on 3rd January 1964. This locomotive
Eastern Railways. This locomotive 2600 HP
WDM2 is powered by 16 cylinders, 4 stroke,
251-B ALcO diesel engines. It has gross weight
of 112.8 ton, axle load 18.8 ton and a maximum
speed of 120 Kmph.
