Located inside the world's largest printing press of hindu religion books, the Geeta Press, the Leela Chitra Mandir is mainly a painting exhibition with beautiful, fantastic n marvelous paintings depicting the incidents from Ramayan, Mahabharat n life of Krishna n Ram. These are painted by the artists who had worked since long for drawing n painting pictures for Geeta Press books. The paintings are framed in wooden frame and covered by glass. You will be just mesmerized by looking at the paintings thinking that are these really painted by hand or are printed photos. It also has paintings of prophets of other religions such as Buddha and Jesus Christ. Paintings are drawn in various styles like Mughal, madhubani and other styles. Some paintings are drawn with such techniques such that you will find different pictures in the same paintings when will look at them through different sides. Oldest printing machine of Geeta press is also showcased there. Most amazing thing you will find here is that a circle in which Geeta is written in Letters smaller than the size of an ant. You have to use magnifying glass to view them. Also letter of Gandhi from wardha ashram is also kept safe. The hall is quite large and lavish. I guess it has more than 200 different paintings. The shlokas and lines from ramcharit manas and Geeta are also carved on the walls. Geeta is written on marble plated and arranged on the walls of whole hall. It's located on 3rd floor. I suggest do visit it once you will never regret. ( There is no ticket, entry is free, u can click ur own photo inside gallery but clicking photos of paintings is prohibited. There is a guide to show u the specialities of creations, u can ask him in case u need his guidance. )
