This was the place where Raghunath Rao l was exiled along with his family. In 1857, Balaji Baji Rao ( Raghunath Rao’s son )’s adopted son, Nana Saheb was declared Peshwa and led the revolt in Kanpur. It’s believed that Balaji Baji Rao was killed by the British upon the capture of the city. After the rebellion, Nana Saheb fled to Nepal. What happened to him is unknown. This place reminds us of the struggle made by our ancestors, yet we keep forgetting their sacrifices !!!
