Ramalinga Vilas Palace

Have a small collection of ancient goods which was used by the kings ruled the land of RAMANATHAPURAM. Some rare arts were secured on the first floor of the palace. Ground floor has the ancient rama temple. There is no facilities to relax people.

Historic place. Must visit if you are interested in history. This is Raj palace for Raja Vijay Sethupathi who financed swami vivekananda to travel in Chicago Dharma Mahasabha, Because of this swami vivekananda made visit to Rameshwaram (comes under Ramanathapuram) to meet Maharaja Vijay Sethupathi. Now, that meeting place reconstructed and that place is known as Vivekananda Memorial.

Historical place good and calm atmosphere maintained here. Dussehra is the main festival conducted here. On Dussehra days, entire palace gets coloured lighting, entertainment activities and ritual programs are conducted. Inside this palace there is a temple dedicated to goddess Parvati (Raja Rajeshwari Amman).

Entry ticket should be taken here. Also if you need to take photos, then you need to pay Rs.30/ extra.
Valari, an ancient tool used by Tamilans is available here. Other than things are usual only, can't expect more.
Also there is a underway ( surangapathai ) inside the palace, which leads to uthirakosaimangai.
