It's wonderful place in Tamilnadu. When you enter in this royal palace you feel Tamilan memories.

Nice place to spend some time while at Tanjore.
The museums are maintained with lot of artefacts. The main attraction is although the Durbar hall for its wooden decorative structure.
There is an AV Show also, which gives a good knowledge about the history of Tanjore.

Sarfoji Raja had a palace in Thanjavur. In this place you can see things used by the Raja family. They are preserved and kept in a museum. The coins and currency notes used by the Raja. The things and dresses used by him and the books and palm leaf manuscript of his collection are kept in this museum. Here we have a bust of Maratha ruler Shivaji and some of things of Shivaji. Those who want to see the 19th century and 20th century objects you can visit this place.

It's definitely a must place to visit.
But the place need more improvements.
Ticket fare Rs.50 for adults is reasonable. But the maintenance is not very satisfying.

An important place in terms of Southern royal dynasties. But The place needs government or ASI resources to preserve a golden part of our history. Along with this people's empathy too as with many other Heritage sites the crowd coming to visit is also contributing to damage and scribblings on the walls.
Welcome change was to see restoration works in progress going on in one part of the Palace

Worst experience. Ticket charge is ₹50. Its very high. But the place is not maintained well and there is lot of staff.. What is their job? I dont know.....
you can visit if the ticket charge is zero but there is not clean, but you can understand the history and there is some things remaining...
