One of the historical buildings of Chennai, this place is opposite Marina Beach and easily accessible by public transport. Earlier known as Ice House, the building houses a museum which offers glimpses of Indian history, culture and the life of Swami Vivekananda. There is a short 3D movie on Swami Vivekananda's speech at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago Entry tickets cost Rs.20/- each and car parking is available. The museum is open between 10am and 12.30pm and again between 3pm and 7.30pm. Highly recommended for all visitors to the city

I’ve crossed this place probably over 500 times, today My quest to acquire Meditation drew me into this venue.

Ice House history is astonishing
Using technology to explain S. Vivekananda and his view is much appreciated and will go a long way in spreading his wisdom, where every human should read.

VR was awesome

A must visit place

Historical place in Chennai on the Marina Beach road. Even on a weekend it's empty. Most people are on the beach. Local people don't usually visit this place. I only saw tourists out of Chennai visiting.

There's neat and clean toilets available. Drinking water available. Parking space for around 10 cars. Enough bike parking is also available. There's a book store too.

Small educational museum. Normal entry is around 30₹. If you want to see the 4D show you will pay a bit more.

Must visit place to get a glimpse of Indian cultural evolution depicted by canvas paintings. Blissfulness is felt in the mediation room. Chicago speech must be experienced in 3D.

I don't have words to describe how much peace I felt once I entered the house of Swami Vivekananda House. This is the place where Swami Vivekananda does meditation. The staff is very polite. The ticket charges are Rs 20/- per person. You will find a lot of information about Swami Vivekananda's life through various pictures. Their life is a guiding light to truthfulness which every living being should follow. The 3D show was fabulous. It showcases the iconic speech of Swami Vivekananda in the Chicago parliament. There is also a room where you can ask Swami Vivekananda questions and you will feel like he is answering your questions in real-time. I am just amazed by the beauty of this place. It is located close to marina beach so make sure to visit this place. The meditation room of Swami Vivekananda will help you focus on your thoughts.

The 3D video clip of the famous Chicago speech is not to be missed.
