Some1 has done a very good job of curating for this museum, but that is the end of the whole project.. Not maintained, none of the police people in the area interested, the autoriksha drivers around the museum does not know that this exists.

You will not miss anything, if you miss this museum.

The museum was opened in 2000.[1] In addition to arms and ammunition of the 18th and 19th centuries, including bullets, guns, machines, and a diversity of other weapons, the museum houses information charts on DNA tests, human bones, fingerprints, snapshots of police dogs and a variety of medals awarded to policemen of different ranks.[2] A concrete statue of Vallabhbhai Patel, weighing 1.1 tons and sculpted by Police Constable Mr. Santosh, was unveiled in January 2005.

a museum that traces the history and growth of the police force in India. It is located just opposite the Kollam Junction Railway Station in Kollam, India. The museum is dedicated to barrister and statesman, Vallabhbhai Patel.

Police Museum at Kollam is the only such establishment in the country, that traces the history and development of the police force. On display are police arms of the 18th and 19th centuries and various other exhibits. The star attraction of the museum is the Martyr's Gallery. The musuem is also known as Sardar Vallabhai Patel Police Museum.

Visiting Hours: 0900 - 1800 hrs on all days

Police museum is hard to find in the state as Kerala has one or two of them(don't kniw the exact number). I think it was built under the guidance B.Sandhya IPS. The condition of the museum now, is pathetic. The exhibits are in a very weak condition. The ticket rate is only Rs.3/- for one person. The structure of the building is also weak.

Very well thaught out and designed but very poorly maintained. It was exactly like a haunted house. It can never be called a museum. My family of 4 were the only ones inside the so called MUSEUM while we visited it.
please avoid this and don't waste your time

The Sardar Vallabhai Patel Police Museum pays tribute to the police forces of Kerala and also traces their history and development. The museum represents the historical figure, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, famously known as the ‘Iron Man of India’. One of the most famous landmarks here is the Martyrs Gallery, which includes police holds arms and ammunition of the 18th and 19th century including bullets, guns, machines, and much more. Additionally, the place endures the unknown facts about Kerala Police force and information charts on DNA tests, human bones, fingerprints and snapshots of police dogs, etc.

Timings: The museum is open on all days except for Sundays between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
