Great experience for those who love Elephants.

There is a huge real skeleton of an elephant and tools and tackles used for catching and controlling elephants.

Also there is a small park for children.

There is a small fee for the entry and parking your vehicle. If you are carrying a camera other than mobile then you should take a ticket for Camera as well.

Konni Elephant Training Centre is a well known training centre for elephants in Kerala. The centre sits on a 9.2 acre land and the main attraction here besides the elephants itself is the massive wooden cage known as ‘Aanakoodu’ that are built to house the elephants. Built in 1942, Aanakoodu can accommodate three to four elephants at a time...

The elephant museum and art gallery was opened for tourists after renovation on February 16, but had to shut down on April 26 because of the lockdown. It had seen a daily footfall of 800 to 1,200 tourists. An exhibition room, central hall and audio visual room are the major three parts of the elephant museum. At the entrance, the visitors are welcomed by two spectacular mural paintings costing Rs 7.5 lakh.

The museum also has the animal’s original body parts like skull, teeth, knee joints, chin and lower jaw.

Traditional equipment used by people in Kerala to capture and control elephants are on view too.
Equipment like elephant traps, hooks, hobbles and tethering chains can be seen in the museum which also help us understand that elephants would have suffered a lot while being captured and tamed in the past.

A great place to take young kids to create an awareness and to impart information about the greatest mamal on earth ,the elephants. The museum has some beautifully maintained exhibits about elephants and how they were captured and tamed in earlier times. U also get a feel of how elephants are kept captive and taken care by seeing the elephants kept there.
A must visit place for everyone who loves elephants.
