good science projects .best location.A nice place for children to visit and learn science, basic science knowledge, see some of the simple science experiments that are fund to watch. Its a knowledge center and not a place for leisure or time pass. Nice place for school touring.one of the few good places to visit while you are in city! It has got many interesting things to see. This place attracts very young children and has nothing much to offer to parents or adults. The maintanance is also not upto the mark. But as its one of its kind in Rajkot, its can be visited once.

Today my wife and I visited O. V. Sheth Regional Community Science Centre, Aryabhatt Science Museum, and Pramukh Swami Planetarium at racecourse, Rajkot, Gujarat.
All three places are in an old, unattractive, poorly maintained building. Although the ticket was only Rs 5.00 for the Science Canter and Museum, there was nothing there to see, know, learn, enjoy, and get excited. All the lengthy information about everything was in regional language, Gujarati.
There was nothing worth noticing in the planetarium, either. At 5 p.m., we were the only two visitors! We couldnot see the show in the planetarium because they wanted minimum five spectators.
We both felt that the visit was wastage of time.
Easy Technical Analysis

The Community Science Centre and Planetarium is based in an attractive building in the Race Course area in the heart of Rajkot, Gujarat. The seeds of the Community Science Centre and Planetarium were sown in the year 1979 when a group was ready to work at Rajkot on development of scientific temper and a beginning was made in the name of “Prayog” to remove belief in miracle and superstition etc. The planetarium itself was established in the year 1992.

The objective of the Community Science Centre and Planetarium is to impart knowledgerelated to science and maths to children with the help of educational programmes, workshops, and seminars. People here believe that science is not something that can be taught on blackboards, and worked on a concept of science learning and teaching through “hands on activities” and experiments.

The infrastructure facilities at the Community Science Centre and Planetarium include Aryabhatta Science Museum, which has under its roof over 100 working science models explaining in detail varied concepts of science. It also possesses five well equipped laboratories dedicated to Electronics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. There is also the Late Shri Narottam Shah library having about 5000+ books and about 50 + periodicals. Not to be taken just as a science lab, the campus also contains a well equipped 200-seat auditorium (with all multimedia facilities), a 500 seat open air auditorium, an exhibition gallery and a sky watching tower. The Community Science Centre and Planetarium also boasts of a fully furnished mechanical workshop that is chiefly used to produce the mathematics models, museum models etc.
