You have very peaceful mind when you enter this Masjid.It is one of the oldest Masjid built in Kilakarai .There is a history saying Vallal Seethakathi who used to be Treasurer for the Rameshwaram Temple,appointment by then Maharajah of Rameshwaram,his statue is there inside the temple.Once the temple was built the artisans, who built the Temple were asked to come and built the Jumma Masjid of Kikakarai.The architecture will bear very similarity of the Rameshwaram Temple's Architecture style.

Some peoples saying this is the oldest temple changed as the masjid. The kind information for those foolish guys who thought like that the temples have many arts & sculpture resembles any species but in.this masjid you can't even find single sculpture..also muslims don't soo sculpture works..soo this is an original masjid build by the Muslims and its.structural style is followed a Dravidian architecture 💯

Locals call it Jinn Masjid. This masjid is built in late 17th century but unfortunately A lot of websites Arctical youtube videos & post Telling that it is built in 628-30 which is completely wrong! Search 👉यहां एक जैसे नज़र आते हैं मंदिर और मस्जिद👈 on google you will find a BBC artical & read it.
mosques are called Palli Vaasal in Tamil languag. One mosque is near this called Palaiya Jumma Palli(old jumma masjid) Actual mosque built in 628-30!
One another mosque near this named kadakarai palli(In Google maps) built in 19th century in same style.

Mashah Allah ! One of the oldest Masjid in Keelaikarai, Ramnadapuram. The architecture of the masjid is awesome. And the designing of the stones are spectacular. It’s mind blowing that how does they did something like this in that time.

I have visited this mosque in summer 2021. What an amazing place. Very near to kilakarai bus stand walkable distance.
I suggest every person who visits Ramanathapuram (Ramnad) or Rameswaram to visit this mosque also this is a very good example of Dravid-Islamic architecture without any sculpture of living things.
Some fanatics claim in reviews that this is an old temple converted to mosque but that is fake news from whatsapp University spread by ofcourse north indian people.
There is not such history as they claim Local hindu people also respect this mosque very much.
