As far a Mosques go, this one has very little to recommend it. It is filthy and full of con merchants. Western women are not allowed in unless they don cotton garments forced on to them and fastened by a man!. Even if they are dressed in long trousers and long sleeved shirts. Strangely however they are not required to cover their hair, which is a first in my experience. It will cost you 300 rupees per device if you take any camera,smart phone,tablet or camera pen into the complex whether you intend to use them or not. So unless someone is with you to look after these items outside it could be a very expensive excercise. Men are frisked on the way in and on the way out to check if they are carrying any such devices. Very sinister and threatening behaviour and not at all welcoming. It is in a very dirty and smelly part of the city.
