Easily the best Jama Masjid I've seen. Simple and elegant. Proportions seem just right. Some things you just have to see and experience for yourself. So many pics, I can't make up my mind which ones to attach. Attaching some pics of the rear of the masjid and the side overlooking the lake.

Beautiful place with some wonderful architecture and a few peaceful spots (although it can get crowded sometimes). Apart from the main dargah, there are beautiful tombs in the back and a grand masjid.

Jama Masjid (literally Friday Mosque), also known as Jumah Mosque or Jami' Masjid, is a mosque in Ahmedabad, and was built in 1424 during the reign of Ahmad Shah I. The inscription on the central mihrab commemorates the inauguration of the mosque on the 1st Safar A.H. 827 or January 4, 1424 A.D. by Sultan Ahmad Shah I.
