Ahmedabad has more than 150 old mosques. Of them all, this mosque is special in many ways. The first is the name itself, a queen has given it name. The construction, specially the carvings are very special, one gets that feeling when one enters the mosque. It is small structure, but not easily forgotten. If Sarkhej Roza is one of the most beautiful complex in the city, this is perhaps equally beautiful among smaller structures. Badly painted signs and un-maintained surroundings have taken some of its charm though.
It is situated along a busy road of the city and still inside its so quiet and peaceful. The periphery walls were broken during the 'development' of the city, but still it has managed to keep its character largely unchanged, despite the development!
Despite of being quite in centre of the city, not many, tourists or locals visit this.
