रामपुर। देश की खातिर जान गंवाने वाले रामपुर के वीर सपूतों की याद में गांधी समाधि के पास बनाए गए शहीद स्मारक का लोकार्पण रविवार को केंद्रीय मंत्री मुख्तार अब्बास नकवी करेंगे। स्मारक में रामपुर के सात वीर जवानों की तस्वीरें लगाई गईं हैं। इसके साथ ही नकवी गांधी समाधि के पास ही कर्नल यूनुस खान की प्रतिमा का भी लोकार्पण करेंगे।
रामपुर के शहीदों की स्मृति संजोने के लिए शहीद स्मारक बनाने की योजना बनाई गई थी। गांधी समाधि के पास पार्क में शहीद स्मारक बनाने की जिम्मेदारी रामपुर विकास प्राधिकरण (आरडीए) को सौंपी गई थी। आरडीए ने इसकी जिम्मेदारी लखनऊ के एक आर्किटेक्ट को सौंपी थी। योजना यह थी कि दो अक्तूबर से पहले शहीद स्मारक तैयार कर दिया जाए लेकिन कोरोना संक्रमण की वजह से कार्य में तेजी नहीं आ सकी। अब दोबारा से यहां पर शहीद स्मारक बनाने का काम तेज कर दिया गया है। शहीद स्मारक वाल इंग्रेव (किसी ठोस वस्तु की सतह पर कट या नक्काशी) करके तैयार किया जा रहा है। यहां कई शहीदों के चित्र भी लगा दिए गए हैं।
