Its a unique junction point where statues of Mahatma Gandhiji and the very first Post Independent Regional Aministrator Thiru.I.K.Kumaran Master stand. So, its called Statue Junction or Azadi Chowk in Mahe. On memorial days, Hon'ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Regional Administrator, Municipal Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and such dignitaries pay floral homage to these historic figures. The junction is on the road side of NH 66 and close to the entrance of Tagore Park, Mahe. Its a remarkable place to visit with one's family.
