Best place for Vipassana. I completed my 10days Vipassana meditation course and found it very useful for my daily life. If you want to learn meditation in its true sense then this is the best meditation technique.

From Gonda : From Gonda train station go to Bus Stand (4 km.) and take a bus to Balrampur (42 km., approx. Rs. 40). Get off at Jharkhandi Temple, located about 100 m. before the bus stand. From here take a shared 3-wheeler auto to Sravasti (18 km. Rs. 20).

From Gorakhpur: Take a train to Gonda (about 200 km.), and then follow directions given above.

From Lucknow: Take a train/bus to Gonda (about 130 km), and then follow the directions given above. Alternatively, go to Kaisarbag(Lucknow) bus stand, and take a bus to Bahraich (135 km.), and change to a bus to Sravasti (about 45 km. on Bahraich Balrampur road).

From Lucknow Airport: Distance to Sravasti is about 200 km. A taxi may be hired for about Rs. 4000.

This centre is situated across the street from the Jetavana Archaeological Park. Place where Buddha Spent 25 rainy retreat.. As the exact boundaries of the original vihāra are un-known, it is quite possible that Dhamma Suvatthi (‘Well-Being of Dhamma’) is located on part of the original grounds. As the place where the Buddha spent more time than anywhere else, Shravasti offers a uniquely vibrant historical Dhamma atmosphere, and this centre is perhaps the most suitable place to benef i t from that energy through practice.
