Calicut Press Club, the nerve centre of media activity in North Kerala, established The Institute of Communication and Journalism( ICJ)

Press Club’s of Kerala are the seats of District Units of Kerala Working Journalists Union( KUWJ), the one and only professional and trade union organization of media persons of the state. As such Calicut Press Club is the headquarters of the Kozhikode district committee of KUWJ. It is the largest Press Club in Kerala, considering the strength of membership (more than 500 Members). It accommodates non-member media professionals also under it’s umbrella. It is the nerve-centre of media activity of north Kerlala.

It conducts diverse activities aimed to promote the professional excellence of media community and the welfare of the society in general.

Institute of Communication and Journalism established in 1997 is a prestige institution run by the Press Club.

It's a very nice place. The hub for journalists in Kozhikode, a well maintained place just opposit to Muthalakkulam ground. Now there is a mini hall with screening facility is here. There is an academy of journalism also here.
