We hadn't actually planned to stay here while at Aranmula, but having had difficulty getting our prebooked room at Vanamali Residency, we came to Thundiath Home. It is located just a few minutes' walk from the main entrance of the Sree Parthasarathy Temple.
There are a few parking spaces for a couple of cars and a few two wheelers. Whole flats, fully furnished with all amenities such as AC, water heater, some cutlery and crockery, towels, sofa set, dining table, chairs etc are available for daily, weekly etc rent.
There is no reception as such and hence no one is there on a full time basis to cater to the needs of residents. The guy (presumably the owner) and the helper boy led us to the flat on the first floor: no lifts available. The flat was clean and well maintained. However, the Mysore Sandal soaps kept in both bathrooms were USED. We were really disappointed. Thankfully we had brought out own soaps, but we did complain to them on this.
One thing we found weird in the design of the flats is that the bedroom has a door which actually leads to a common corridor! How strange! Didn't find it safe in that respect. If you look out of the bathroom windows, you again see the same common corridor. One of the frosted glass panes was missing in one bathroom window so we couldn't use it. Thankfully the other bathroom window was okay.
We we charged ₹2500 for one night which was the going rate in that area. We needed to leave early in the morning, but had to wait till someone arrived as no one is available there at night. We paid by app, which was convenient considering there is no ATM nearby nor did they have the EPOS machine to accept card payments.
Overall, just about okay. Probably would give it a miss if we visit Aranmula again.

Wonderful experience. Management and staff were cordial and helpful. Rooms were neat and in immaculate condition. Food served was homely and tasty
