Go before 6clock eve..Too much crowded in the steps by shops. Bus services are there from ground to near the temple(and return) for once in 30mins. Walkable distance from railway station/bus stand. From Poojaris to shop keepers everyone are money mongers. So keep your pants tight!! There is a free-tokened place to keep your slippers, so unless you have a wish do not leave your slippers in the shops at down.

This temple is clean and must visit at-least once in life time. The positive vibrations in the temple is very high. You can any day and rush will be less. You an have peaceful view of the main deity Subrahamanaiam (Murugan). The Poojaries in the temple are very influence on Pilgrims and take lot of money in the name of dakshina

The origins of this temple, like most Hindu temples, are buried in antiquity. This temple has been mentioned in the Sangam period work Tirumurugaatruppadai composed by Nakkeerar. It has been patronized by the Vijayanagar rulers and local chieftains and zamindars. The original animal mount of Murugan is believed to have been an elephant, compared to the peacock which is considered to be the most common mount. The white elephant, is considered a powerful, terror striking animal. The iconography is maintained only in two places, namely, this temple and Tiruttani Murugan Temple.
