I had requested their help with a case. They told me to pay 10,000 as deposit to begin working on the case and then after consultation quoted 1.5 lakhs for the case. Later I said I cannot afford your fees and do not want to pursue this case and please give my money back. They said this is money for consultation and stopped responding on call. I visited lawyer to get my money back and told him I was never told 10,000 was a non-refundable deposit and it's a very high price for just an opinion with no work done. He said this is what you get for a High court lawyer but I think he just saw a vulnerable woman and tried to take advantage. He was initially refusing to even give me a receipt but I refused to leave the premises without my documents and the receipt and he finally gave me one. If you can afford to pay 10,000 for just opinion and have enough money to pay them 1.5 lakhs for simple case issues, please go visit them. Whatever money you pay, whether it solves your issue or not, you will never see this money again. In my case, I did visit a few other "high court" lawyers who were nicer, ethical and did not charge me any money to give their opinion. These lawyers confirmed that the solution mentioned by Chetan Pandya was not correct and would not have solved my problem. So atleast I just lost 10,000 as opposed to 1.5 lakhs.
