I took their travel insurance for my 3 month long Europe trip. The very first day of my trip in February, my MacBook and DSLR got robbed from my Airbnb apartment in Prague. I got a police report as well. The very week I called SBI and asked if I can claim money for the robbed items under "Home Burglary insurance". They said yes and sent me the list of documents I should sent. I sent them a soft copy of the police report, translated version, all the bills of the stolen items along with the insurance claim form and cover letter. They asked me to mail the originals and I had to wait until I got back to India in May to do it. In May, I was told that it would take 3 weeks to make the decision.
Three weeks later when I called, they kept dodging me and lying that it would happen the next day or next week. I would call every single day for them to lie as usual. They kept doing this from June to September 2018. I was so tired of running behind them. I infact went on another trip to Europe and came back. I called them again for the 100th time 3 days back and they said my case has been rejected cos "I CAN'T CLAIM VALUBLES AND THAT THE HOME BURGLARY INSURANCE APPLIES ONLY TO THEFT THAT HAPPENS IN INDIA (Even though it is a travel insurance)". It took them 8 months to tell me this, which they could have told me the very first day when I called asking if I can claim these lost items.
Unprofessionalism at its peak. The people working here don't keep up their words, they lie and waste our time. Throughout these 8 months, they didn't call or mail me to keep me updated. I had to call them everyday and lose my money on Skype credit.
I would give negative stars if there was an option.
