Bad Experience

In the vegetable order of ₹ 360, he sent food for only one person, whereas 2-3 persons could eat food in that order. Their quantity of food was very less. He charged ₹160 for ₹20 ice cream. Hotel rooms were very small. The cupboard in it was too small to store your luggage properly. The table was also given very small like a stool. When we ordered for food, it was served in a small bowl with only one person's quantity of vegetables or ice cream. Whatever you were ordering, food was being given to you according to one person and you were being charged by the restaurant. Seeing that felt very bad.

We had a really good experience here. The rooms are satisfactory, food is really nice and reliable and the staff service is simply incredible.

Highlights of the Hotel:
1) Room: The rooms are well designed in limited space, the furniture is quite classy. The amenities in the room and washroom are high end.
2) View: Our room had a really nice view of Darjeeling and the hills. You can see clouds rise from below you.
3) Location: the hotel is 5-7 mins walking distance from Darjeeling main market. It's quite convenient.
4) Food: The food is tasty, reliable and in good quantity. We tried Punjabi food, south Indian and Chinese. All meals were great.
5) Staff and Service: Service is great and staff is very friendly.

We haven't tried the spa facilities during our stay, but had positive review about it from other guests.

Special shoutout to hotel manager for personal attention to all details and all guests.

Limitations:
1) Room are a small, but adequate in price range.

The rooms are well maintained and clean with a very hilly vibe in the architecture of the stairs and the hotel. Excellent and responsive service by the staff. Icing on the cake was Kanchenjunga view from our bed in the room. Truly mesmerizing!

Stayed in a family room having 2 double beds. Excellent view from window. Room was very spacious and cosy and bed very comfortable. Quality of sleep very good. Front desk behaviour very good and helpful. However there were a few shortcomings going by a 4 star hotel. Towels and glasses provided were two although this was a 4 bedded room. Only 2 chairs in room. No bath mat, no shower screen (hooks were there), floor got wet and slippery. No toiletries provided. No subscribed channels on TV, only preview available. Electric kettle cable got burnt. Also entrance to hotel is through a back alley.

Overall good experience for a family with few pros & cons as listed below

Pros:
1. View of Kanchanganga & Darjeeling city from room
2. Staff behavior is very good.
3. Food is excellent

Cons:
1. Parking space is very limited
2. Location is bit far from mall road for a casual walk in the absence of local transport (PS: I went to mall road 3 times in 2 day stay)
3. Room heating provisions aren't sufficient for temp below 10 degree.

It is most suitable hotel for families. Safe & secure.

Stayed in suit no.804 , uncomfortable room with 2 beds and ultra small washroom with warm(not hot) water. electric blanket for 1 bed only , 2nd bed doesnt have power point. Giving 3 stars only because of staff , V.V.helpfull and giving service with happy smile. Food is excellent better than summit gangtok. Ambience of restaurant is very good with live music every night, singer has good voice. Restaurant staff is very quick doing service specially kabita, Romika chef Kiren, Nabin. Will recommend this hotel but not rooms on top floor.

I do not have the habit of writing reviews for a place or may be my experiences till date have never been this horrific. Before I get into the details please remember, everything I write is true for most of their properties in Darjeeling. You will understand in the later half of my review.
We were a group of 4 and all of us are avid travellers and have visited numerous properties across India and abroad. We were staying in Kalimpong before reaching Darjeeling and had a wonderful time in Sterling. Unable to book the same hotel chain in Darjeeling, decided to book Summit Hermon. This was 26th of December and hence, my memories are fresh ( despite trying consistently to erase it) we reached Summit Hermon around 1.30 pm and after checking in we were taken to our rooms. The bed had fresh shoe stains, oil stains and other stains which I am not aware of. The curtains had fresh puke all over it. I called the manager and he said we have to talk to someone superior to solve this issue. We called Agoda and they informed hotel has a no refund policy and no cancellation policy. I requested the hotel manager to at least give me refund or do something about the whole mess. By then it’s 4.30 and I am supposed to fly back to Mumbai on the 28th. They finally decided to shift to one of their other hotel Summit Oakden. We waited there till 6 and finally got a room to shift. This was because of the manager in oakden who was the only good person in the entire chain of their hotels. To our utter dismay, we were informed that we can stay here only for the night as the hotel is booked for tomorrow. My first day in Darjeeling was over to figure out a possible room. Second morning we were asked to check out by 11.30. We were shifter around 2.30 to summit Swiss heritage. Enter the hotel lobby and see a guy screaming at the top of his voice “ why did you take my money and not giving me a room, I am waiting for the last two hours”. I realised I am not alone in this. Apparently he is also a victim of the Summit tragedy. Anyway, we went to check out our rooms and guess what same stain, same dust, same dirty washroom. Here, the reception was even more ignorant, their reply to all this was “ you did not book here, it is summit Hermon’s fault”. Morale of the story, this group is worthless, horrible food, horrible behavior, no empathy, and absolutely no remorse. I had to write because my entire trip was spoilt, my end to the year was horrible. I don’t want anyone else to go through it again. Please don’t believe in anything they say. Postpone your trip if no hotels are available, but don’t stay in any of their hotels. It’s a massive scam.
