Small beautiful bungalow which has been traditionally decorated. The place is a small boutique kind of hotel. Its done in a very traditional way. The place is simply outstanding. But the seating for meals is sufficient for a small crowd. They dont have huge spaces as the Bungalow ifself is a small cosy property. If you wanna sip coffee with your close friends, head for this simply fantastic place. The interiors are warm and inviting.

We went to Calcutta Bungalow for dinner with family, and were so glad we decided onto this place - exceptional food and courteous staff. The guy at the reception was really sweet. We also met Snowy the cat roaming around the terrace - so disciplined and friendly. 🥰 Overall it was a wonderful experience. ✨ Thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed at Calcutta Bungalow from 26 Nov to 28 Nov 22. Nicely renovated building. we had excellent stay. Calcutta Bungalow is in the heart of city. Staff are professional, friendly and well behaved. They make you at home as soon as you check in. Food is excellent. We will recommend to our friends and families.

Super beautiful building and room! We adored it! The staff was first class, always exceptional and helpful! Close to the Metro (7-8 min walk) which was perfect for getting to some Main attractions in the area.
We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

A magnificent place to stay. Loved the aesthetics! So beautifully and well decorated. Very friendly staff who could not do enough for you. And, fantastic food. The breakfast was delicious but the evening meal was even better. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Calcutta Bungalow for 3 nights in Nov 22. The property is beautifully restored and is in an interesting northern area of the city. Our room (Sahibpara) was attractively furnished and a decent size, with a large and comfortable bed.

The staff were lovely and overall we enjoyed our staff at this property.

There are a couple of things to be aware of when selecting Calcutta Bungalow:

- While it is in an interesting area of the city, if, as we were, you are only visiting Calcutta for a short period, and wish to see the main sights, you are some way out of the city centre, and with traffic congestion, it can take quite some time to get to the city centre.

- The property is in a quiet neighbourhood, and very peaceful at night. Unfortunately, our sleep was disturbed every night by barking from the many stray dogs. Bring some earplugs!

- (minor) WiFi in our room was marginal.

Overall, we liked Calcutta Bungalow, and we commend the owners for their efforts to restore this lovely old building, but we would personally choose to stay more centrally, were we to return to Calcutta.

If you want the old Kolkata experience at a decent price this is the place to be. Located at Phoriyapukur (close to Hatibagan & Shyambazar). All kinds of public transportation available (bus, taxi, metro).
The food is amazing. Feels like homemade Bengali cooking. The rooms recreate the old Kolkata Bengali experience. The staff is super cooperative (special mention to Wasim who literally is the man-friday).

There's so much to write about Calcutta Bungalow, but the bottom line is that they nailed it. A combination of clever understanding of the guest's needs and an extremely attentive and kind team makes this place a winner and great value for money.
