One of the best places to stay in Darjeeling. It's far from the crazy traffic jams and crowded roads. The food and service is incredible. In fact, other than sight seeing, there is no reason to leave this self sufficient space. Workation heaven.

My family and I had a very enjoyable stay at Ging Tea House. The staff are warm and hospitable and ensure that the guests remain as comfortable as possible. Mr Andrew, the general manager was friendly and approachable and gave us valuable suggestions about places to explore during our stay here. Anju, Raju, Nikesh, Isha and our driver Kiran went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one by asking about our preferences and accommodating our requests.
My two young kids had a lovely time playing billiards, playing the piano and exploring the surroundings. We stayed at the Blue Lady Suite and enjoyed the amazing views from this suite; especially watching the beautiful sunrise from the comfort of the room.
I must admit that I had previously considered Glenburn and Mayfair prior to deciding on Ging and my stay affirms that my decision was correct, as per the reasons below:
- the individualised attention and service is way superior to a resort like Mayfair, which has multiple rooms
- in terms of pricing, Ging includes both the cost of the car and food and offers bigger rooms compared to Mayfair, hence Ging has an edge over Mayfair
- Glenburn is further down the road from Ging and the road to Glenburn is extremely bumpy, which can be quite a deterrent if you are intending to travel out for sightseeing
- Glenburn's room rates are way more exorbitant compared to Ging's, hence, Ging certainly is a better deal.

I hope to visit Ging again in the future. It was a wonderful, relaxing stay indeed!

The drive from Bagdobra Airport to Ging Tea House took a little over 3.5hrs with some incredible views along the way. Margaret's Deck is worth a stop to let the driver have a break and to have a drink or snack to keepnyou energised for the rest of the journey. Passing through Darjeeling enroute to the Ging Tea Estate keep your camera handy so you can take some pictures of the Toy Train (we saw the steam and diesel engines several times). On arrival at the Ging Tea House we were warmly greeted by the staff and given a hearty lunch. The staff are very attentive, maybe even too attentive, as they kept knocking on the door to the room to see if we wanted anything - after an early morning flight and a long journey in the car we just wanted a nap, but their customer service was excellent !

On arrival they serve a cup of tea to their guests who have travelled long way.Even they wanted to pay for a cup. I didn’t understand their modalities of hospitality.Their manager Andrews didn’t have time a give a glass of water to their new guests. Awful experience. Thank you.

Such an expensive place - so disappointing! The setting of the house is really nice and quiet. Apart of that everything else is a catastrophe. Ging Tea House agreed to organize transportation, took the money long time ago, confirmed several times and the afternoon before pick up they said we should organize ourselves because they cannot find a driver. The expensively invoiced driver they provided for a day excursion around town has let us wait for an hour in the cold although he agreed to the pick up time in town more than 2 hours before. We love good Indian food but what Ging serves is not even average. After having seen that at lunch and dinner on the first day we went to a wonderful restaurant in town the next day and took no more meals at Ging. Management as well as staff are extremely bad and lack any life. The way they serve meals is just bad. I could continue that way. As a resume the stay at Ging is a huge waste of money. Never had such a bad experience in all my journeys to India.

Lovely colonial place situated in the tea garden. Home away from home. Delicious food. Nice vegan food. The kindness and the hospitality is fabulous and second to none. Staff fantastic. Highly recommend.

Very quiet, but the cost-benefit does not match at all the international standards

Loved my stay here!! The way the place is done up is just so stunning! The view is breathtaking with acres and acres of tea estate and hills ahead of you! Watching the sunrise here was such a serene experience. We got a tour of the tea factory too! The staff is outstanding, they are friendly and so helpful. The food is delicious and you eat your breakfast in the lawn area overlooking the green hills! I had an amazing experience here with my family especially when Darjeeling town itself has become so crowded and polluted a secluded place like this is much needed to understand the real beauty of that place. Keep up the good work team!
